List of Data & Analytics Online Communities
One of the best ways to network and stay connected to the data & analytics community is via online communities on chat/messaging platforms like Slack and Discord. Here is a running list of communities — feel free to drop a comment with any others that should be included!
Also, in addition to the many online communities, there are many more local groups — check meetup.com, Eventbrite, LinkedIn Groups, and any location-specific channels in the communities below to see what groups are meeting in your area. Many of them are meeting in-person and/or virtually and also have Slack communities of their own.

Open Data Science Conference — Annual conference held in multiple locations with a Slack community of 5,000 members.

Analytics Mentor — Discord community associated with the Analytics Mentor online courses. Over 2,000 members.

Data Visualization Society — This group does an annual conference and has a Slack community with over 17,000 members.
Academic Data Science Alliance (ADSA) — They host events and have a Slack community with 1,000 members.
Data Umbrella — Community to welcome underrepresented folks to the fields of DS/ML/AI with a Discord community.
Software/Programming Language Communities
dbt — Slack community with over 66,000 members, most conversations are centered around analytics engineering and using the dbt platform.
R for Data Science — Online learning community with a Slack community with over 17,000 members.
PySlackers — Slack community with over 40,000 members
Women in Data Communities
Women in Data Science (WiDS) — Annual conference for women in data with regional conferences around the world. They also have an online community.
Data Angels — Slack community with over 2,000 women working in data or interested in a career in data.
PyLadies — Global community with local chapters and a Slack community with over 11,000 members.
R-Ladies — Global community with local chapters and a Slack community with almost 4,000 members.
